The Palatine Hill rises over Rome, the heart of the ancient city. The hill is covered with the fabulous ruins of the early Roman Empire, and Rome’s most spectacular architecture surrounds it. Years ago our Founder encountered an ancient floor on the Palatine, with a classic pattern that inspired her. She took a photo and saved it in her desktop drawer, revisiting it frequently. After many years, she took it up and reworked the pattern into Vecchia Romana©; a classically Elegant mosaic in the ancient tradition, updated for the modern palate.
