All stone must be sealed. Properly sealing your stone will help prevent stains and improve cleanability.  Aquamix Stone Sealer's Choice is recommended for natural limestone, granite, marble, quartzite and travertine.

How should stone floor tile be cleaned?
Sweep or vacuum regularly to remove dirt and grit that might scratch the tile. All stone surfaces should be cleaned with a PH neutral stone and tile cleaner, like AQUAMIX SUPER CONCENTRATE, following the manufacturer’s directions for proper solution strength and application. Use a clean, damp mop to wipe the surface; using a very wet mop will not properly clean the surface.

How should ceramic or porcelain floor tile be cleaned?
Sweep and vacuum regularly to remove dirt and grit that might scratch the tile. Clean regularly with household detergent and rinse with water. Use household cleaners according to their label directions. Avoid scouring powders or other abrasives which can scratch the surface.

Walls

How should dry-area wall tile be cleaned?
Interior dry walls require minimal maintenance; wipe clean as required with a damp microfiber cloth and warm water.
How should shower wall tile be cleaned?
We recommend that shower walls are wiped down with a squeegee after each use to prevent hard water stains and mildew development. Routine cleaning should be carried out with a pH neutral stone and tile cleaner like AQUAMIX SUPER CONCENTRATE, following manufacturer’s directions for proper solution strength and application.

Do I need sealer for stone wall tile?
Yes, all stone must be sealed! AQUAMIX STONE SEALERS CHOICE is recommended for natural limestone, granite, marble, travertine, and porcelain.  If natural stone is given the proper care, the stone will sustain its beauty for many years to come.

How should wall tile made of glass, ceramic, or porcelain be cleaned?
For glass, ceramic and porcelain walls, regular cleaning can be done with detergent and rinsed with water. You can also use household cleaners according to their label directions. Try not to use scouring powders or other abrasives, which can scratch the surface. Special cleaning may be necessary to remove soap scum, a rough white coating created from hard water and mildew. It is recommended to use a mixture of ½ cup of water softener, 2 tablespoons of rottenstone and 1 cup of hot water to remove soap scum. To remove mildew, use a mixture of diluted chlorine. And to eliminate the rough white coating that can appear on the tiles, use a commercial tile cleaner to dissolve it.

Does tile with a metallic glaze require a different cleaning solution?
Metallic glazes can be chemical-sensitive and may require the use of specialty cleaners. For our metallic glazed tile, AQUAMIX CONCENTRATED STONE & TILE CLEANER is recommended.
