Cosmati Checkerboard Living Room

Named after the Cosmati family of famed stone artisans, Cosmati Checkerboard is a waterjet-cut mosaic that integrates six types of natural stone: Bardiglio Imperiale, Bianco Dolomiti, Calacatta Rosa, Lilac, Ming Classico, and Rosa Portogallo. The geometric pattern features small squares within a larger square, alternating with solid stone square tiles in different colors. In this modern living room, the checkerboard floor is balanced by a profusion of rounded shapes, including a curvy mirror and cloudlike sofa. A neutral color palette with lots of white keeps the room looking airy and bright.
