Blue Sky Primary Bathroom

Design studio Greathouse NYC suffused this primary bathroom in the colors of earth and sky. Blue Sky Dolomite Slabs adorn the walls, custom tub, shower, and countertop. A rare stone quarried in Namibia, Blue Sky stays true to its name with a dramatic depiction of shades of blue intermingling with clouds and sun. The backsplash is Custom Walden Waterjet Mosaic, a stone and glass creation in a floral pattern that evokes both the pastoral setting of Thoreau’s Walden and the ethereal nature of Monet’s lilies. The snow white vanity fronts and polished glass knobs emphasize the feeling of light reflected, for an overall aesthetic that recalls Thoreau’s own estimation of Walden Pond as “tranquil and lovelier than diamonds.”
